Libra New Moon Solar Eclipse - Relationship Release, Reset and Upgrade

A Solar Eclipse is an extra-powerful New Moon, planting seeds that will grow over the next six months and even the next 19 years. The new potentials seeded by this Eclipse require a release of what you’ve outgrown, a completion of one life chapter to make space for the new.

Eclipses have a 19-year cycle, and this same Solar Eclipse occurred in 2005, activating the same part of your chart. Consider what was happening in your life at that time, what similar themes or issues are arising for you now, and how you’ve grown and changed since then. Who were you 19 years ago, and who do you want to be 19 years from now?

In Libra, this Eclipse highlights relationships of all kinds, patterns of relating, and the balance of give and take within your relationships. Libra the Scales seeks the “equal exchange” and this Eclipse reveals where your exchanges may be out of balance, where you’re giving more than you’re receiving, or vice versa.

The Eclipse activates the South Node - the karmic past - and could stir up the shadow or distorted expression of Libra, revealing what’s ripe for releasing: “compare and despair;” co-dependence and people-pleasing; prioritizing external harmony over inner peace; compromising or sacrificing your own needs and desires; “going along to get along” instead of expressing your true self and pursuing your passions.

Mercury closely conjoins with the Sun and Moon, inviting you to “eclipse” old thought patterns, old stories, and old ways of perceiving, especially in relationship-land. There’s the potential to see situations from a radically new perspective, and there may be important conversations to have - best approached with sensitivity and an open heart.

The Sun, Moon and Mercury in Libra form a challenging square to Mars in Cancer, suggesting that what’s getting triggered in present time has more to do with the past. This square speaks to how wounds, insecurities and programs from early childhood play out in current relationships. Deep, lasting healing is available, when you own your projections, and FEEL what you’ve been afraid to feel.

Venus, ruler of Libra and presiding goddess of this Eclipse, is in deep-diving Scorpio, willing to investigate the shadows and get to the root of relationship dynamics. Venus forms a grand trine - a powerful and harmonious configuration - with Mars in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces. Mars and Saturn lend courage and strength to work through challenges - with sensitivity and vulnerability. In the water element, this grand trine facilitates the flushing out, cleansing and release of old emotions. Let the feelings flow!

Sign Polarities of the Zodiac - Healing and Integration
