Astrology Mentorship
The Astrology Mentorship offers heart-centered, experiential learning in a small-group setting. Our focus is on using astrology as a tool for personal and collective healing and transformation, and supporting each participant to develop their own unique approach to the art of astrology.
The Mentorship is for those who want to practice astrology professionally.
To participate in the program, you will need to have basic chart interpretation skills – i.e., a working knowledge of planets, signs, houses and aspects.

I was fortunate to work for the late great Jan Spiller for several years, as a writer and editor, and she became a mentor to me. Even before we met, she was my astro-super-heroine. Her book Astrology for the Soul changed my life, and has had a profound influence on my practice of astrology.
Jan shared the above line in one of our conversations, and it’s a quote I come back to again and again, as it expresses the essence of my intention for my work.
Over the past few decades, astrology has become increasingly popular and there’s no shortage of astro-information available in internet-land. But with this proliferation, there’s also a massive shadow and distortion in terms of how astrology is often presented and practiced.
Astrology is a tool that can be wielded to support your helplessness or power, your fear of life or your excitement about what's possible, your enslavement or your liberation.
My motivation for offering this mentorship is to counter the fear-based nonsense that I see in the astro-world, and to train more future astrologers to work with the Cosmic Science for healing, liberation and empowerment.
About the Mentorship
This is an engaged program – this is not the kind of class where you sit on the sidelines or watch the replays and simply take in information. Astrology is a language, and like any language, you only achieve fluency when you practice speaking it.
There will be plenty of hands-on practice with interpreting charts, and you will need to be present for at least 90% of the live classes. (Recordings will be available if you have to miss a session, or for your reviewing pleasure.) There will also be homework assignments that involve working with other class participants, and with practice clients.
Participating in this program requires a certain level of emotional maturity and a willingness to do your own personal work. This is not a therapy group, but we will be working with charts of group participants, and your shiznit could get stirred up.
I believe that we can only be useful to our clients to the extent that we’ve done our own inner work. We do not need to be perfect or perfectly healed in order to help other people. But practicing astrology is a continual process of learning and healing, and running your own business (in my experience) provides endless “growth opportunities” that can sometimes be quite challenging.
In addition to developing astro-skills, throughout the program we’ll also discuss the business, marketing and financial aspects of being a professional astrologer. I have learned A LOT in my 25+ years of doing this work, and I’m committed to supporting you to create a successful and thriving practice.

About your mentor
I love sharing my passion for astrology! I’ve been studying astrology for more than 40 years, and have practiced professionally since 1999. My approach to astrology as a healing art has been informed by my training in natural healing and energy medicine.
I taught my first astrology class in 2003, and from 2011-2014 led a mentorship program in Portland, Oregon. I taught my first online mentorship in 2024. Several of my students are now professional astrologers.
Mentorship Structure, Dates & Investment
The first part of the mentorship consists of two courses, covering transits and progressions, which are open to everyone, but required for those who want to participate in the mentorship. All classes meet on Friday, 9-11am Pacific/12-2pm Eastern.
Transits – The Meaning and Purpose of This Time (7 sessions) - April 24 to June 5, $245
Identifying and interpreting transits is an essential technique for astro-navigational guidance. Rather than “predicting the future,” the usefulness of transits is in understanding “what time it is”: how this period in your life fits into the context of broader cycles; which energies and archetypes are at play and how you can best work with them; and, the deeper meaning and purpose of this time.
The Progressed Chart – Evolution from the Inside Out (6 sessions) - July 10 to August 14, $215
The progressed chart is a “predictive” tool that reveals the timing and trajectory of your unique evolutionary path. Combined with transits, progressions are an essential technique for understanding the meaning and purpose of this time, and how to effectively work with current energies. In addition to progressed planets and the progressed lunar cycle, we’ll also touch on Solar Arc Directions, and combining progressions with transits.
Mentorship Intensive (12 sessions) - September 11 to December 18 (no meeting 9/18, 10/9, 11/27), $855
The Mentorship Intensive is limited to 12 participants, selected through an application process. Each participant will receive a one-on-one consult with me after class sessions have ended, so I can support you in your next steps forward. Between classes, there will be homework assignments to complete with another participant and/or with a practice client. There will be a private Telegram group where we can connect between classes.
The Intensive consists of three modules:
1. Philosophical Foundations and Their Practical Consequences (2 sessions)
We start by taking a deep dive into the foundational beliefs and assumptions underlying our approach to astrology and work with clients. What is astrology, what are we doing as practitioners of the Cosmic Science, and what are the potential pitfalls and distortions? We’ll explore how we can best wield this powerful tool for healing and growth.
2. Astro-Triage – Getting to the Heart of the Chart (4 sessions)
Once you understand the basics of the birth chart, the real work of interpretation begins. And the biggest challenge is information overload. I always feel like I could ramble on for hours about a client’s chart, but what really matters? How to focus in on the “headlines” in a way that’s most meaningful, relevant and useful? I’ll share the strategies I’ve learned and cultivated for discerning priorities and getting to the heart of the birth chart.
3. Putting It All Together – Chart Reading Practicum (6 sessions)
In the final module, we’ll take what we’ve learned and put all the pieces together, through chart readings in the group, as well as chart readings on your own. We’ll work with plenty of examples and you’ll learn how to give life-changing readings.
Requirements for Participation:
Knowledge of basic chart interpretation – conversant in the planets, signs, houses and aspects;
Commitment to being present for at least 90% of the live classes;
A time commitment of about 12 hours/month – class time (6 hours/month) plus homework, which includes meeting with other students between classes (about 6 hours/month);
Completion of mentorship application and interview;
The non-refundable tuition must be paid in full before the start of the program;
Not a requirement, but highly recommended that you complete my Astrology 101 and Astrology 102 courses (available by recording) – this will insure that you have a strong foundation in the astro-basics, and that you resonate with my approach to astrology and style of teaching.
