Sagittarius New Moon - Heal the Past to Expand Into Your Fullest Potential

The Sagittarius New Moon invites you to renew your spiritual fire, to reconnect with your inner truth and guidance and restore your faith in a positive future. Expansive, adventurous Sagittarius is the sign of optimism and trust, reminding you of the bigger picture and higher vision, calling you beyond the daily details to see your life as a mythic journey.
Cranking up the volume on Sag expansiveness, this New Moon conjoins with the Galactic Center and squares Neptune in Pisces, and the Moon is out-of-bounds. The energies can feel vast, chaotic, emotional and very mysterious. While truth-seeking Sag wants to understand (“make it make sense!”), Neptune at the last degree of Pisces confounds the mind and requires trust, surrender and deep listening.
This New Moon catalyzes the headlining planetary alignment of this time - the waning conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. In two months, Saturn and Neptune will meet up at the first degree of Aries, initiating a new 35-ish-year cycle of manifesting a new dream. In the meantime - we’re entering the final phase of the dissolution of reality, massive endings, what might feel like the greatest release and surrender of your life.
When the energies feel so very BIG, you can get overwhelmed by the too-much-ness of it all and just want to check out, run off to the next adventure, completely give up. Also possible - getting lost in illusions, getting fired up and righteous about events, situations or beliefs that may not be real. This is a good time to remind yourself not to believe everything you think.
The higher potential for this lunation is healing. Jupiter, ruler of both Sagittarius and Pisces, closely squares Chiron. The square was first exact on October 23, and the second will be just a few days after the New Moon, on December 21 (the Solstice). The square from Jupiter in Cancer to Chiron in Aries stirs up wounding from early childhood, as well as trauma inherited from your family and ancestors.
The wounding is coming up because, here at the end of a major cycle, it’s time to heal and dissolve the past. As you heal yourself, you also heal your ancestors and future generations. The healing process may involve the dissolution (Neptune in Pisces) of old beliefs and stories (Sagittarius) that block you from fulfilling your highest potential, that limit your future possibilities.
Jupiter-Chiron can feel very vulnerable, and you may be tempted to go into coping mode and cover up the pain, to put on a mask of strength and “I’ve got this.” But the higher expression of Chiron in Aries is the courage to reveal your vulnerability, your authentic humanness, to move through the pain with an open heart and feel your feelings.
The healing that happens in this lunar cycle prepares you for the Saturn-Neptune rebirth on February 20. Take time and create spaciousness for tuning into the subtle voice of your soul. Move slowly, ask questions and listen deeply rather than making assumptions or asserting what you think you know. Pull your energy inward and lean into the bigger-picture and longer-term perspective, as you dream into a more beautiful future for yourself and the world.
