Scorpio New Moon - A Radical Shift of Perception to Awaken Hidden Power & Resolve the Past

Scorpio is the yin or inward expression of Mars, the sign of INNER power. Scorpio is the Magician and Alchemist, transforming reality through the unseen realm of energy and emotion, through a deep alignment with the Mystery.

Scorpio regenerates power and vitality by releasing what’s outgrown, stagnant, lifeless – the snake shedding its skin, the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Through a willingness to let go of what’s energetically dead – without yet knowing what’s going to replace the old – Scorpio summons an influx of aliveness, passion and possibility.

The Scorpio New Moon occurs while six planets are retrograde, and within a time of massive endings – Saturn and Neptune both at the end of Pisces. We’re preparing for an epic rebirth in February 2026, when Saturn and Neptune will meet up at the very first degree of the zodiac, 0° Aries.

In this context, the Scorpio New Moon represents not so much an initiation of something brand new – like your typical New Moon – but rather a new awareness of what’s got to go, an activation of courage and clarity to release and resolve the past.

The New Moon precisely conjoins with retrograde Mercury, the “cazimi” moment when Mercury sits in the heart of the Sun. Not only does this conjunction put an emphasis on the retro-ness of this time – a focus on the past and inner world – it also lights up your awareness, bringing a transformational message or new perspective.

Mercury in Scorpio has the gift of seeing through the dark, getting to the root of an issue, uncovering what’s been hidden in the shadows, limiting your power and vitality. This rare alignment at the New Moon invites you to change your mind to change your life. What old stories and mental tapes are holding you back, ready to be released? What’s the NEW story that supports you in living more authentically, with greater passion and potency?

The revelatory power of this New Moon is amplified by the Sun, Moon and Mercury all opposing Uranus, the Great Awakener. The messages you receive, the new insights or shifts in perception, could come through like a lightning bolt – shocking, sudden and revolutionary. This is a New Moon of radical reversals, a time to “expect the unexpected” and flow with change.

The New Moon and Mercury also form a Water Grand Trine – a cooperative, harmonious flow – with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer. Water is the element of feelings, and with so many planets in water – seven altogether, plus the North Node – and most of those planets retrograde, unresolved emotions from the past are rising to the surface.

While the deluge of water can feel vulnerable, extra-sensitive and heavy, the Grand Trine supports you to move through the emotional backlog, to cleanse, purify and release the past. Spending time in or near water can help you connect with your own watery flow. Down time and dream time are also important, allowing spaciousness to tune into your depths.

As retrograde Jupiter remains in an ongoing square to retrograde Chiron, healing the past – early childhood, family shiznit, issues around safety and nourishment… – continues to be on the front burner.

The Scorpio New Moon brings revelations that support you to heal the past, and the courage to release what you’ve been holding onto out of fear and the illusion of safety.
