Wednesday’s full moon in Gemini is an unusual and rare event. Four planets – including the Moon – will be out of bounds, stirring up extreme, unpredictable, rebellious and “out there” energies.
And, the Moon will conjoin with retrograde Mars so precisely as to create an occultation, similar to an eclipse. Mars is living large at this full moon, bringing to light our unacknowledged desires, repressed anger, and old patterns of self-sabotage.
We’re halfway through the 6-month Mars retrograde cycle, and this full moon marks a significant turning point on this Martian vision quest. How’s it going with: reconnecting with your soul’s passion and mission, regenerating your life force, and renewing your confidence and power?
Word to the wise: reactivity may be running high, and anger can be easily stirred up (and misdirected). In the body, Mars can trigger inflammation and exacerbate existing symptoms.
The higher potential of this lunation is to break through and break free from habitual patterns of perception – the old stories, beliefs and mental tapes that subvert our power and keep us stuck in lack, limitation and loneliness.
The out-of-bounds-ness of this lunation invites innovation, experimentation and expanding beyond what we think we know or how we think reality “should” be. Useful states of being: curiosity, wonder, and imagination.
Mars is in an ongoing square with dreamy Neptune throughout its retrograde, and leading up to the full moon, Neptune is further amplified, as it turns from retrograde to direct (forward) on Saturday.
Sensitivity, grief, overwhelm, sleepiness and confusion may be heightened, along with the potential to connect with our deeper intuition, creative imagination, and guidance from dreams and the other side. Allowing yourself more rest, spaciousness, and time in or near water can be helpful.
The higher Mars-Neptune potential is to catalyze and strengthen our mystical power and Spiritual Warrior selves.
