Aquarius Full Moon - Transformational Portal Revealing the Truth That Sets You Free

Whoa!! Approaching Wednesday’s Full Moon the energies are EXTREME. This may be the most potent, transformational and triggerrific Full Moon of the year.

The once-in-a-lifetime outer-planet alignment - the harmonious triangle formed by Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - has just peaked and will continue to be in effect through 2028. Now, Jupiter’s opposition to Pluto, sextile to Uranus and trine to Neptune creates the cradle or basket, in effect for a few weeks - and amplified by the Full Moon.

Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius is the one “hard” angle in the cosmic cradle. While we love the ease and flow of harmonious angles (sextiles and trines), it’s the hard angles (conjunctions, squares and oppositions) that, by generating tension and friction, actually catalyze the most growth and change.

The opposition is the angle of maximum tension, pushing you to evolve, often through a relationship or situation in your life that demands attention and action. In the case of Jupiter opposite Pluto, we have the planet of expansion, amplification, risk-taking and faith opposite the planet of radical transformation, death and rebirth, shadows and secrets.

The Full Moon cranks up the volume (and pressure!) of these already extreme energies - the Leo Sun conjoins with Jupiter while the Aquarius Moon sits right on Pluto. Adding to the vulnerability, sensitivity and core-wound-triggering quality of this lunation, the Full Moon, Jupiter and Pluto also form a square to Chiron in Taurus.

This Jupiterian-Plutonian-Chirotic Full Moon dredges up deep emotions and calls for the biggest transformation of your life, asking:

Are you willing to face your fears, to tell yourself (and others) the truth you’ve hidden or repressed? Do you have the courage to take a risk toward greater love, happiness and freedom - regardless of what other people might think? Do you trust your heart to guide you? What are the beliefs and stories blocking your quantum leap into a more fulfilling future? Where are you being held back by wounds of unworthiness, lack or scarcity?

Further increasing the potential volatility of this Full Moon, Mars and Venus, the cosmic lovers, form an exact square. Creative and sexual tension leading to productive action is the higher expression of a Mars-Venus square. The less optimal potential is going to battle. Venus in Virgo can be critical, judgmental and nit-picky while Mars in Gemini can react in snippiness, anger and verbal attack.

The ruler of both Virgo and Gemini is Mercury, which just came out of retrograde last Thursday (can I get an amen??). Mercury in Cancer points to home, family and emotional life as arenas for both volatility and productive change. Whatever issues get stirred up (and fought about) on the surface, the conflict is likely rooted in emotional wounds from the past.

The best way forward is vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate communication - deep listening with an open mind and speaking your truth from the heart. The Mars-Venus square asks, “Would you rather be right or happy?” Look back to January 7, when Venus and Mars conjoined in Capricorn, planting seeds for a new cycle of love and creativity. What did you start then that’s now coming to light? What do you love and value (Venus) that’s calling for committed action (Mars)?
