“Float downstream in nonresistance to what is being offered for your growth in daily life. Struggle itself is an indication of the functioning of ego rather than your Essence, which knows that in truth flow in change is the nature of reality.” - Ariel Spilsbury
The Capricorn New Moon sparks a cycle of fast-moving change, an accelerated dissolution of old reality structures, an invitation to deeper surrender. As Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, nears the end of Pisces and approaches its conjunction with Neptune, multiple cycles are closing out. The epic rebirth starts February 20th - the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the first degree of Aries, the zero point for new creation.
Capricorn is the last of the earth signs, the master builder. But this New Moon is more about completion than building, more about preparation than manifestation.
The inner work right now is to realign with your essence self, with your spiritual destiny, with the older, wiser part of you that can stay grounded and hold the long view through the collapse of the world as we know it. Receptivity, deep listening, rest and spaciousness are key. Set aside your ideas about what life “should” look like and be open to where the flow of change wants to carry you.
The outer work? Clear out clutter, get organized, tend to what you’ve been avoiding or procrastinating, responsibly bring to completion what you’ve outgrown. Remember the Capricorn mantra: “I can do hard things.”
The New Moon conjoins with Mercury and Mars in Capricorn, highlighting the power of your focused attention. The Capricorn contingent forms a harmonious trine with Uranus in Taurus, helping you clarify your values, what’s worth investing your time and energy into over the long haul. Pay attention to what feels connected, exciting and enlivening - and be open to new insights that throw a curveball into your plans and redirect your life on an unexpected trajectory.
The Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury also harmonize with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, forming a supportive sextile. Your dreams and intuition hold important insights about your destiny - pay attention to the subtle messages you receive. Harness the power of your imagination to visualize the highest future for yourself and the collective. Know that reality is fluid - what seems fixed may be illusory, and what seems like an impossible dream can become real.
Did I mention fast-moving change? Neptune and Saturn will both transition from watery Pisces to fiery Aries during this New Moon cycle, on January 26 and February 13 respectively. Expect a surge of vitality, clarity and momentum. And, a day after the New Moon, the Sun will shift into Aquarius, soon followed by Mercury and Mars. While earthy Capricorn moves slowly and strategically, airy Aquarius is the sign of quickening and quantum leaps.
Venus is already in Aquarius and starting to conjoin Pluto at the New Moon - the first of the inner planets to meet up with the Underworld God/dess, the force of soul evolution. Over the next few weeks, the conjunctions of Venus, the Sun, Mercury and Mars with Pluto intensify the purging process at the end of the Saturn-Neptune cycle.
These Underworld initiations bring awareness to what you’ve outgrown, and where you’ve lost your power. What needs to be released in order to access greater authenticity, freedom and aliveness? Where are you seeing yourself as a victim of world events rather than an active co-creator of humanity’s future?
The meeting of personal planets with Pluto also signifies a very intimate confrontation with collective change, especially when it comes to technology, and the impact of technology on our humanness. What is your personal relationship to the escalating AI takeover, the digitalization of every aspect of life? How do you maintain your humanness, your identity, your personal power? (Eric Francis and I go deep into this topic in our recent conversation about 2026 astrology.)
Within the context of this Capricorn New Moon cycle, what is the destiny that’s calling you NOW? How is your role in the world changing in response to collapsing social systems and rising technocracy? The exact form may not yet be clear, but this is the time to feel into the ESSENCE of your soul’s mission, to ground into spiritual wisdom and self-authority.
