The Pisces New Moon marks a completion, a final liberation from the past, while also inviting you to dream into the future you’re starting to create. The dissolving of the old world and the building of new realities are happening simultaneously. As we navigate the murky, messy and mysterious transition between the old and the new, trust, patience and deep listening are required.

Occurring at the end (28th degree) of Pisces, this New Moon reactivates territory previously covered by Saturn and Neptune. The dissolution of old forms has been in high gear since Saturn first entered Pisces in March 2023, and intensified over the past year, culminating with Neptune’s grand finale at the end of Pisces from October 22 to January 26, and Saturn’s last hurrah in Pisces from September 1 to February 13.

Saturn and Neptune are now in Aries, and their conjunction on February 20 signaled the start of a brand new chapter. However! This New Moon’s reactivation of the end of Pisces suggests there’s more to clear, complete and heal. What do you still need to release to free up space for rebirth? What no longer feels aligned with your dreams for the future, your spiritual mission, your soul’s deepest truth?

Further focusing attention on the past, Mercury is still retrograde in Pisces, until March 20 - the Equinox. At the New Moon, and as Mercury turns direct (starts moving forward), and for about a week altogether, Mercury conjoins the North Node. Reviewing and releasing the past with a mindset of unconditional love, acceptance and compassion helps you move toward your divine destiny. Take time for stillness and spaciousness, so you can tune into your dreams and intuition for important information and a new understanding of your spiritual path.

Supporting you to shake off the past, the New Moon forms an exact sextile - 60-degree angle of harmony - with Uranus, planet of revolution and liberation. This Uranian New Moon can catalyze awareness about unconscious attachments, what you’ve been holding onto out of fear rather than love. At the same time, new insights into what you really love and value can help you clarify your future vision.

This will be the last full lunar cycle with Uranus in Taurus - another completion! Uranus will move into Gemini on April 25, and won’t return to Taurus again until 2102. How are you closing out this Uranus in Taurus cycle that started in 2018? How have you evolved your sense of self-worth, your love of your body and the Earth, your relationship to money and abundance? How have your values changed? Are you now ready to embody your more beautiful world, to bring your higher vision into physical reality?

Uranus in Taurus sextiling the Pisces New Moon reminds you to cultivate INNER stability and security (Taurus) amidst the chaos and dissolution (Pisces). Multiple planets in Pisces heighten sensitivity to the collective swirl and it can be easy to get lost in feelings of overwhelm, hopelessness, victimization. Keep returning to sensations in your body, and ground into the Earth. Become a strong, steady vessel that can hold this wave of change, allowing the emotional tides to flow through you.

The Taurus-Pisces combo also speaks to the re-wedding of spirit (Pisces) and matter (Taurus), the recognition of and reverence for the holiness inherent in ALL life. We don’t need to die and leave the planet in to find God, we’re meant to create heaven on Earth. (I think of Machaelle Small Wright’s brilliant work with nature spirits and her memoir, Behaving As If The God In All Life Mattered.)

If you’re feeling impatient with the slowness and slogginess of this transitional time, know that the turbo-charged rocket launch is coming soon. The March 20 Equinox, when the Sun moves into Aries and Mercury goes direct, will catalyze momentum. And the next New Moon (on April 17) will be a fast and powerful blast-off into the new, featuring SEVEN planets in Aries and ALL the planets moving forward.

In the meantime, prepare for rebirth by allowing yourself to rest, feel and heal, release what you’ve outgrown, and dream into your highest vision for a new you and new world.

For more insight into what this new moon means for YOU, find the house in your birth chart that contains 28° Pisces. The areas of life signified by that house are where transformation is stirring, there’s powerful energy for seeding a new beginning, and where you’re invited to:

  • restore your faith and reconnect with your infinite soul self;

  • apply the Piscean super-skills of unconditional love, acceptance, forgiveness and compassion;

  • use your imagination to dream your ideal world, and make art to express your vision;

  • soften and open up to receive clarity and guidance, rather than forcing, pushing or over-analyzing;

  • slow down and listen to what your body is telling you – trust your own knowing;

  • dissolve, grieve, release the past – and prepare for a new project, relationship or life direction.
